How Do Each Face Filler Work?

There are many types of filler plastic surgery, and plastic hospitals and clinics mainly use hyaluronic acid, poly-L-lactic acid and Botox fillers.

Hyaluronic acid-based fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring ingredient found in the skin. When injected under the skin, it attracts water and adds volume to the treated area.

Poly-L-lactic acid fillers work by initially filling the wrinkles with small PLLA molecules. As the beads biodegrade, the body produces new collagen at the injection site. Over time, PLLA helps the body replicate lost collagen, rejuvenates collagen production, and helps restore the skin's internal structure and volume. Over the course of treatment, it smoothes fine lines and wrinkles and improves the youthfulness of the skin.

Botox works by temporarily paralyzing the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the targeted area, thereby eliminating dynamic wrinkles and giving the appearance a more youthful appearance. When used regularly, it can also prevent the formation of permanent wrinkles, which are often the result of chronic tightening of facial muscles due to loss of collagen and aging skin. Some studies show that skin texture and quality also gradually improve with treatment.

The doctor will choose the type of filler based on the area being treated and adjust it based on the patient's expectations.
